The European Commission Award for the Diploma Supplement Label to University (07 October 2011)

Following intensive studies within the scope of Bologna Process harmonization studies which is being conducted all departments of the university for each education level (Associate, Undergraduate, Graduate, Doctoral) Akdeniz University had applied for the Diploma Supplement Label on 15 May 2011. As a result of review and assessments which was made on the application of two-stage (the National Agency and European Commission), the official explanation by the European Commission for  the period 2011-2014 with the university 'Diploma Supplement Label Award' is given has been declared on 7 October  2011.

The Diploma Supplement (DS) is a document attached to a higher education diploma with the aim of improving international transparency and providing academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc.) It is designed to provide information of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were successfully completed by the individual named on the original diploma to which this supplement is appended does not involve any value-judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition. It is a flexible non-prescriptive tool which  saves time, money and workload.

Universities as a measure of the quality of education provided by the European Commission indicated the Diploma Supplement Label Award; the organization that gave way to every aspect of the Diploma Supplement is considered an honored award. ‘Diploma Supplement Label Award', Copenhagen (Denmark) on 8 May 2012 date will be presented to the Akdeniz University.
