Decisions / Minutes:

Bologna Process Coordination Board met at Senate Hall under the chairmanship of Bologna Coordination Board President, Prof. Dr. Muharrem Certel on Friday 13 May 2011 between 10:30–12:00. In the meeting, firstly, MEYOK decisions which dated 12 May 2011 were discussed. Next, summary information was given by Bologna Process Coordinator Prof. Dr. Burhan OZKAN about information sharing meetings which held in the units. After discussing Course Information Package Templates which will be prepared in English, the issue of course information packages publication in the ABKO’s web page were handled. Finally, general assessments of the Bologna Process works were made.

In this context, in the university-wide;

1. The issue of keeping courses which are given by the Higher Education Law's Article 5i provisions, out of total ECTS credits in the undergraduate programs will be proposed to discuss at the Senate.

2. To taught courses which are given by the Higher Education Law's Article 5i provisions not only in the first year but also in the other years will be proposed to discuss at the Senate.

3. Course Information Package English Templates will be published on the ABKO’s web site from Tuesday, 17 May 2011.

4. Preparations will be start for the publication of Course Information Packages and Course Catalogues on the ABKO’s web page if Automation System not delivered into use.

5. Informing about the Diploma Supplement will be published on the University's main web page in the area of ​​high visibility and constant.

6. All of the Units will be strictly complied the scheduling about the Bologna Process Compliance Activities which made in the Coordination Board Meeting, dated 29 April 2011.

For Undergraduate Courses;

a)Teaching staff will be login from http://ogrenci.akdeniz.edu.tr/ogrweb2007/ with their own passwords,

b)As the years and periods, “Course Descriptions (ECTS)” option will be chosen from the lists box,

c)The control and correction process of content will be performed while all courses are selecting one by one.

For Post Graduate and Doctorate Courses;

a) Teaching staff will be login from http://ogrenci.akdeniz.edu.tr/enstitu/anamenu1.asp with their own passwords,

b) “Course Descriptions (ECTS)” option which is located on the left side of the screen will be chosen,

c) The control and correction process of complete list of courses will be made.

9. Expressing "Special Topics and Special Field Courses and also Consultancy" in English Language will be in the same way by all teaching staff. (For example; in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Special Topics and Special Field Course in return for “Special Topics in Agricultural Economics”, in the Department of Food Special Topics and Special Field Course in return for “Special Topics in Food Engineering”, for consultancy “Counseling” will be used.”

10. Due to the breakdown in Automation system, if the necessary corrections cannot be made by the teaching staff with their own password, the necessary changes will be made by the super-authorities in units with the control of the Department/Program Directorate,

11.  Courses which are completed required control and correction procedures will be reported to Rectorate by the Unit Coordinators.

In connection with Vocational Schools;

1. Ensuring IKMEP in compliance with Bologna Process works.

2. Vocational Schools Programs will be fulfilled the requirements of numbered 2547 Higher Education Law's Article 5i provisions.

3. In the Vocational Schools, all courses which are similar to each other in terms of learning outcomes will be collected under a single course.

4. According to the decision of the General Assembly Council of Higher Education for all programs, Basic Information Technology course which is located in the common core courses categories will be considered equivalent to Information and Communication Technology course which is proposed in the IKMEP.

5. System Analysis and Design course in the Engineering, Architecture and Building, Environmental Protection programs will be given 3 ECTS credits including 2 theoretical and 2 applications course hour in one semester.

6. The determination of elective courses categories and credits, which are compulsory for the program and optional for the student, will be as follows:

a) In basic areas of Engineering, Architecture and Building, Computer, Environmental Protection, Agriculture, Health, Security Services (6 ECTS); Quality Assurance and Standards course (1 ECTS 1+1), Business Ethics (1 ECTS 1+1), Communication (1 ECTS 1+1), Environment Protection (1 ECTS 1+1), Research Methods and Techniques (1 ECTS 1+1), First aid (1 ECTS 1+1),

b) Social Services, Management and Administration, Personal Services, Art, Law Programs (6 ECTS); Quality Management System (1 ECTS 1+1); Business Ethics (1 ECTS 1+1), Communication (1 ECTS 1+1); Business Administration (2 ECTS 1+1); Research Methods and Techniques (1 ECTS 1+1); First Aid (1 ECTS 1+1) ,

7. If Vocational Schools want to give place to physics, chemistry and biology courses in the curriculum;

a) Each of the Physics, Chemistry and Biology courses will be in one semester under the name of General Physics for Vocational School, General Chemistry for Vocational School, General     Biology for Vocational School and each of them will have 2 theoretical and 0 application course        hours with a total of 2 ECTS credits.

b) Programs which will take the Mathematics courses to the curriculum necessarily, can give place to Mathematics courses for vocational school in the one semester, General Mathematic 2.0.2 (2  ECTS 2+0), if the program competencies required in the next semester Business Mathematics  2.0.2 (2 ECTS 2+0), besides, each of mathematics course 1 for vocational school and   mathematics course 2 for vocational school has 4 theoretical and 0 applications course with a      total of 4 ECTS credits.

c) The program committee can give place to one or a few courses in the curriculum (taking into consideration to learning gains of the course) within the framework of the program competencies. 

8. Course of environmental protection: programs that are engineering, architecture and construction, computer, environment protection, security services in the first semester, programs that are agriculture and health in the second semester,

9. Course of business management: programs that are management and administration in the first semester; programs that are social services, personal services, art, law in the second semester,

10.Course of first aid: programs that are engineering, architecture and construction, computer, environment protection, security services, agriculture and health in the first semester, programs that are social services, management and administration, personal services, art, law in the second semester,

11. Communication and research methods and techniques are in the third semester, Professional Ethics course in the fourth semester,

12. Course of quality assurance and standards; programs that are engineering, architecture and construction, environment protection, agriculture, security in the fourth semester,

13. Course of quality management system; programs that are health services, social services, management and administration, personal services, art, law in the fourth semester,  

14. If the programs will add the course which include any of the proposed courses learning gains (the concerned course's upper-level course)   to their education programs, the proposed course will excluded from education program.

15. These decisions which are taken in the Coordination Board for Vocational Scholl programs will be    finalized in the MEYOK meeting which will be held on Wednesday 18 May 2011.
